The Chics Who Run The Show
Michelle K. Boyd
Chief Operating Officer
Michelle Boyd is one of the founding members of TSS and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer. Michelle started out as CEO of TSS, but decided to turn over all of the "business stuff" to Jessi in the summer of 2011 so she could focus on customers and train the next generation of TSS sales ladies. But more than any company title, Michelle is better known as "The Thread Lady" for her 20+ year career in the industrial thread industry, as well as a "customer action hero," a name that has generated a loyal following that she counts more as friends than customers. Her intimate knowledge of thread sales and manufacturing began with Bemis Mills in Jackson, TN. Following that, she worked for a distributor, Tennessee Threads. After her four year tenure with Tennessee Threads, Michelle then spent nearly a decade with Service Thread Manufacturing Company, further building her relationships with her customers throughout North America and Canada, many of whom date back to the inception of her professional career. Michelle became known not only for her technical expertise, but for her genuine spirit of care and concern, positive attitude, and infectious laugh. Her decision to form her own company was prompted by the urging of some of her most loyal customers; however, by far, her biggest fans are her husband, Larry, and three daughters, Laramee, Kenadee, and Delanee, who are her most important customers. Michelle gives of herself and her time to anyone in need, volunteering frequently at her church, and daughter's school.
Jessi Bell Pruett
Chief Executive Officer
Jessi Pruett is one of the founding members of TSS and serves as the Chief Executive Officer. We all know that Michelle is the face (or voice) of TSS, but Jessi keeps everything together "behind the scenes." Jessi started out as CFO/Legal Council with TSS but was moved over to CEO in the summer of 2011 when Michelle decided to focus on sales. A native of Columbia, TN, Jessi is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. She spent some time practicing law with a local law firm where she focused on transactional business law. On June 8, 2005, Jessi was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer. After her diagnosis, Jessi underwent six surgeries, two rounds of debilitating chemotherapy, and radiation. Throughout her illness and treatment, Jessi maintained an amazingly positive attitude and became known for sending encouragement cards to others from her hospital bed. Jessi is now a proud survivor, something she attributes wholeheartedly to her faith in God and the prayers of others. In August of 2006 (just after finishing treatment for breast cancer), Jessi helped Michelle form TSS. She left the law firm life in January of 2008 and has never looked back. Jessi married her college sweetheart, Eddie, in 1999 and they are the proud parents of two boys, Alex and Clay.
